SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
This plat vacation application was initiated by the owners of property at 1933 SE 2^nd Street. The request is to vacate 2,000 square feet of street right of way on a hammerhead cul-de-sac between their property and 204 SE 20^th Place. The vacation will enlarge the area of both properties. Additionally, 354 sq. ft. of platted easements are requested to be vacated on Lots 1 and 2, Block 1339 and 354 sq. ft. of platted easements on Lot 32, Block 1338. The vacation will provide the owners of 1933 SW 2^nd Street with greater flexibility in designing and constructing a new single-family home and driveway on the site. Underlying easements in the vacated right-of-way will be retained by the City. The City will also retain new easements that will be sufficient for maintaining a continuous public utility and drainage easement around each site.
