TITLE:
Ordinance 82-24 Set Public Hearing for December 4, 2024

ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS:

WHAT THE ORDINANCE ACCOMPLISHES:

The Ordinance authorizes and directs the City Manager or their designee to enter into a Ground Lease with Lee County, a political subdivision of the State of Florida, for the lease of property owned by the City of Cape Coral located at 101 NW Douglas Parkway to provide emergency medical services, and authorizes the City Manager or their designee to execute the Ground Lease and any related documents. REQUESTED ACTION: 
Introduction
SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:

Property located at 101 NW Douglas Parkway, consisting of approximately 3.86 acres of vacant land.

 

The terms of the Lease shall commence upon adoption by the Mayor and City Council and shall be effective for a term of 50 years, with the option to renew for two additional ten-year periods.

 

Lee County shall construct an emergency services facility within four years from the effective date of the Lease to provide emergency medical services for the benefit of the general public.  Lee County shall be responsible for all costs of construction, maintenance, and repairs. At the end of the Lease term the County shall surrender possession to the City unless the County has exercised its option to purchase the property.

 

Specific to business impact estimates, this ordinance is exempt pursuant to Section 166.041(4)(c)4., Florida Statutes.
